There is typical sound development for each age range. A speech sound disorder occurs when sound errors continue past a certain age. Speech sound disorders include problems with articulation (making sounds) and phonological processes (sound patterns). Children with articulation errors may struggle with confidence amongst their peers, affecting them emotionally and socially.
We offer evaluation and treatment of articulation, phonological and oral-motor deficits.
We offer evaluation and treatment of various language disorders including expressive and receptive language, auditory processing, and developmental and learning delays.
We offer evaluation and treatment of various social language and pragmatic difficulties including improvement of social skills, interaction and PDD-autism related difficulties.
We also are looking to expand to small social groups! Please inquire if you are interested in a small social group which would be directly addressing non-verbal body language, social interactions with peers, and maintaining conversations.
Autism is a developmental disability, which affects language, communication and social development in children of all ages. Children with autism have challenges with communication and social skills. With this disorder, people find it difficult to have conversations with their peers and notice social cues. Some children with autism may not talk at all, and others may not have trouble talking. All people with autism have some degree of challenge with communication.
Early play skills have been linked to later language and cognitive development. Some children may have difficulty engaging in age appropriate play patterns, using eye contact, body language, and social language skills to interact with others and develop their own play ideas.
